AmeriCorps Members

The Red Cross AmeriCorps program is dedicated to bringing health, safety, and preparedness programming to underserved neighborhoods, schools, and communities.  Programs include CPR, First Aid, babysitting, and more.  The AmeriCorps program allows you to do great things in your community while you grow as an individual.  You will gain teamwork, leadership, and communication skills in a fun environment.

Full-time members are required to serve 1,700 hours and receive a living allowance of $11,100 per year.  Full-time members can receive an educational award in the amount of $4,725 after completing their term.  It is usable for up to seven years from completion of service.

Instructors

American Red Cross seeks outgoing, flexible, patient instructors for CPR classes.  Part time day/weekend/evening availability.  Training provided to qualified candidates.  EOE

Training is offered on weekdays from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. and is 3 days long.

Candidates should have a good comfort level with CPR and First Aid skills

Flexible availability is a plus; particularly during daytime hours

Candidates should have some type of experience in training or leading group activities
